Poonam is an attorney-at-law and forms part of the litigation team. She is involved in the drafting of pleadings and handles formal matters before the courts and tribunals in Mauritius, before which she appears on a regular basis.
She is also involved in intellectual property and insolvency cases before the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court.
Poonam has previously worked in reputable law firms in Mauritius and has had significant exposure in both corporate and litigation matters relating to commercial law, employment law, insolvency law, and civil law. She also completed a 6-month internship at the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
Poonam holds a Bachelor of Law with Honours from the University of Mauritius and a LLM in International Criminal Law and Security from the University of Northampton. She was ranked second in the 2015 Vocational Course Examinations of Mauritius for attorneys.
